Reviews
Cashel house was rather disappointing, no one asked us to help with our bags, the food was dreadful and the entire property is in dire need of upgrading. No one bid us goodbye either. Such a pity as the location is superb.
We absolutely loved this place. From the moment we arrived everyone was so welcoming to both us and our little dog. The gardens are so beautiful and its such a peaceful setting. The room was so spacious and tastefully decorated. The carved ham at breakfast was a big hit and overall we just really had such a lovely stay. We would highly recommend and would definitely return too!
From the service, to the quality of the dining, to the excellent bar and the perfectly kept grounds, Cashel House is a one in a million vacation spot. We will return - I have never experienced a hotel or a resort that could top Cashel.
Note - if you are interested in an urban experience, Cashel is not for you. There are no crowds, no raucous club scene, no casino, no shopping of any kind. But if you want quiet luxury, a place to relax and forget about everything, a place to soak in the natural beauty of the Wild Atlantic Way, Cashel cannot be topped.
When you stay at Cashel House, you are not a guest. You are a Resident, and you are treated as such.
Stay away! Completely overpriced, run down and bad service. My partner and I stayed in Cashel house Hotel 9-12 June. We had high expectations considering this is a blue book hotel, and most other reviews were very positive. However, we were hugely disappointed by the room, facilities and service. The only positive was the very friendly staff in the breakfast room. Upon entering there is a musty smell. The receptionist was awkward and did not show us the room or offered to help with the luggage, we were pointed up the stairs, turn and then more steps and stairs etc. The junior suite was small with old charity shop furniture and some newer cheap furniture, cheap mismatched stained linen, damp spots in the wall, crumbing plasterwork and paint, and broken ceiling lamp. It did not look charming and well put together, but tired and ugly. The very small bathroom was cheaply finished with no water pressure whatsoever. When I asked the awkward receptionist why there was no hot water, he stated there was, but I had to run the washbasin tap for about a minute and then the shower would become warm as well. He made this comment like this was something completely acceptable for a E260 pn room! Breakfast was a mix of buffet and a la carte and was okay. We decided not to have dinner there, so had to drive to other places, because it is so remote. At check-out I was not asked whether we had enjoyed our stay. I handed in the customer survey card with my opinion, suggestions and experiences to the awkward receptionist, but it wouldn't surprise me this was put in the paper bin even before we'd left the premises. The entire place and the gardens are in need of serious renovation and investment. For e260 per night, this is a total rip-off. I've stayed in B&Bs half the price and had a much nicer stay and better experience.
Stayed here over the June bank holiday weekend. A Lovely boutique hotel. Grounds were fabulous and staff were super helpful. Highly recommend the Connemara lamb, abssolutely delicious!! Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Would definitely stay again!
Lovely place. My husband, I and Jessie(our dog), went here. Lovely staff, lovely food, lovely grounds. Dog friendly which is amazing to bring your dog on holiday. Not many places in ireland that are dog friendly.
The only thing I'd change is a little upgrade on some of the windows in the rooms and a lick of paint in bedroom. It's lovely highly recommend it.
We stayed 2 nights in April. Had breakfast and dinner both days in the hotel. Food was sublime. Beautiful gardens, scenery is spectacular. Staff were kind, professional and friendly. An amazing place, looking forward to going there again in August.
We spent two nights here in early May and everything was perfect. It’s a magical and peaceful location with beautiful gardens. We ate breakfast and dinner at the inn both days and the food was delicious. The dinner menu changes nightly, which was a pleasant surprise. All in all, highly recommend if you’re looking for a relaxing get away.
